Annual General Meeting of Supporting Members for Fiscal Year 2022
On June 1, the Yamaoka Memorial Foundation held its “Annual General Meeting of Supporting Members for Fiscal Year 2022” in Osaka. These meetings had been postponed or held online due to the corona pandemic, but after implementing measures to prevent corona infection, such as limiting the number of participants, the meeting was held as an in-person event for the first time in three years.
The annual general meeting is held once a year to explain the purpose of establishment and the objectives of the Yamaoka Memorial Foundation to our corporate and individual supporting members and to introduce our daily business activities in order to deepen their understanding of the Foundation's activities.
At the beginning of the general meeting, Mr. Yamaoka, Representative Director of the Yamaoka Memorial Foundation, greeted the participants, and Mr. Fukino, Deputy Mayor of Amagasaki City, gave a congratulatory speech on behalf of the guests. Executive Director Yukino then gave a report on the last fiscal year's business and a description of the business plan for the current fiscal year. In the latter half of the general meeting, Mr. Martin Eberts, Consul General at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Osaka-Kobe, gave a lecture on "Hydrogen Energy Technology in the German Energy Transition."

The general meeting was followed by a Marimba performance by Ms. Kana Omori and a string performance by members of the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra, culminating in a joint performance of both. The atmosphere of the event was very relaxed. Some of the supporting members even let their fingers dance to the rhythmical sound of the marimba.
As this was the first annual general meeting in three years, it was very impressive that many participants left with smiles on their faces. All of us at the Yamaoka Memorial Foundation hope that next year, we will be able to hold a General Meeting of Supporting Members without limitation on the number of participants.
